Daesha Jackson

Daesha graduated in 2025 from West Virginia University where she majored in Psychology and multidisciplinary studies and minored in Criminology, Forensic & Investigative Science, and Law & Legal Studies. She hopes to pursue a career in Clinical Psychology or Forensic Psychology to help bridge the gap between mental health and the legal system.

Hannah Shaffer

Hannah graduated in 2025 from West Virginia University where she majored in Psychology (B.S.), with a minor in Sport and Exercise Psychology.  Hannah is planning to earn her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. Hannah is Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), she has previously worked at a local autism center, and she currently works as a Psychometrician at a local psychology clinic. Her goal in the long run is to open a clinic that specializes in improving the mental well-being of current and former members of the military.   In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with friends, family, and her cat, Phoebe.

Jennifer Ruggieri

Jennifer graduated with her bachelor’s degree at West Virginia University in 2024 where she majored in Psychology and minored in Italian. Supporting herself through school, she’s an instructor at a children’s community music school and a server in a local restaurant. Jen is pursuing a master’s degree Clinical Mental Health Counseling at WVU and hopes to become an evidence-based sex therapist. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and playing the drums in a local band.

Allyson South

Ally graduated in 2025 from West Virginia University where she majored in Psychology, minored in Human Services, and earned her behavioral analysis certification. Ally is planning to continue her education and pursue a career in school psychology. 

Nasya Warfel

Nasya graduated in 2025 from West Virginia University where she majored in Psychology, minored in Forensic Science, and earned her Behavior Analysis Certificate. As a research assistant in Dr. Roley-Roberts’s POSTSCRIPT Lab, Nasya primarily focuses on three projects: Spanish Quality of Life and Functional Impairment (QOLaFI), Trauma Informed Care Systematic Review, and Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome Systematic Review. She wants to pursue a career in Behavioral or Forensic Psychology. Additionally, she hopes to one day enter the FBI.

 

Kaitlyn Gooch

Kaitlyn is an undergraduate student at West Virginia University majoring in Neuroscience. She plans to continue on to earn a Doctorate in Neurology with focus in Multiple Sclerosis.

Jacob Ralston

Jacob completed a post-baccalaureate research assistant position in the POSTSCRIPT lab. He graduated from West Virginia University in 2022 with a BS in Biology, where he conducted sensory neuroscience research in Drosophila melanogaster under Dr. Andrew Dacks. Jacob’s research interests focus on elucidating the mechanisms linking childhood adversity and psychopathology, understanding how trauma impacts psychosocial development, and exploring parent-child dynamics in the context of trauma and foster care. He is particularly interested in child and adolescent populations within underserved communities, such as those in Appalachia and the foster care system. His goal is to create effective strategies for family preservation and enhance resilience within these communities. Jacob hopes to pursue a Clinical Psychology PhD to deepen his expertise and impact in these areas. Outside of research, he enjoys playing chess, reading, running, backpacking, and spending time with his dog and wife.

Sharon Phillips

Sharon is currently completing her APA-accredited internship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2018 with a BS in Psychology and a double minor in Neuroscience and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. After graduating, Sharon worked as a Clinical and Research Administrative Assistant in the Department of Behavioral Psychology at Kennedy Krieger Institute, where she helped conduct research on how to make child behavioral services more accessible to military families. Sharon attended Towson University’s Master’s program in Clinical Psychology, where she did meta-analytic research on the use of PCIT for different disorders and populations. Her current research and clinical interests include behavioral interventions for children, the use of PCIT with different populations, and best practices for disseminating PCIT and other evidence-based approaches. In her free time, Sharon enjoys doing virtual game nights with her friends, reading, and doing craft activities, such as knitting and crocheting.
